August 20, 2008
The Riverton Middle School Leadership Team kicked off the 2009 school year with a summer retreat meeting where leaders reviewed data from 2008 and made plans for creating a 2009 School Improvement Plan. Members of the RMS Leadership Team include Melody Trout, Sara Schlichting, Carol Sims, Kari Hires, Jackie Viste, Michaela Campbell, Cathy Wahl, Chris Koerwitz and Fred Lamkey.
The team is designed to oversee the project teams that carry out the middle school improvement process. There are four project teams, Math, Reading, Writing and Data. The project teams work throughout the year implementing curriculum and instructional strategies based on data that is collected during the year.
During the first four weeks of the school year, the Leadership Team has been working with Project Teams to create Action Plans that will drive the school improvement process. All RMS Goals and Action Plans are directly linked to Riverton District Goals that are set by a district wide Leadership Team.
The RMS Leadership Team meets twice a month after school to monitor progress, adjust action plans and offer support to Project Teams. This is their third year of operation. If you would like to know more about the RMS Improvement Plan, please feel free to communicate with Mr. Lamkey at the middle school.
