Calendar of Events:

 

  • Friday, October 31: Halloween Parade at 2:00 ( parade route will be in the RES Elements) and Class Party @ 2:25
  • October 27-31 Red Ribbon Week
  • Wednesday, October 29 @ 6:30 Parent Education night

 

 

Notes, Reminders, and Needs:

Please remember to return your Pizza Hut Book It Reading Log.

 

Please remember to complete and return your child’s red folder work each Thursday.  Your help at home really makes a huge difference in the classroom.  By working together we can better equip your child for success.

Halloween Info

 

              

 

Halloween is a fun time for students.  Please make sure that costumes are appropriate for school.  Students will only be wearing their costumes during the parade.  Please send your child’s costume to school in a bag with their name on it.  Students will not be allowed to put on face paint, makeup, hairspray, color, or glitter.  Parents are invited to watch the parade at 2:00.  The parade route will be in the RES Elements on Wednesday.  If you are helping with the classroom party, the party planner/parent will have contacted you for help. 

 

Please make sure all treats are store bought. 

 

 

Red Ribbon Week Special Activities:

Tuesday- “Living Drug Free Is No Sweat”

Students should wear sweatshirts and sweatpants.

 

Wednesday- “If You Say NO, Wear Red from Head to Toe”

Students should wear red on this day.

 

Thursday- “Slam Dunk, Drugs Are Junk”

Students should wear sport shirts on this day.

 

Friday- “Sock it to Drugs Day”

Students should wear crazy socks

Reading:

This week we are working on predicting and inferring.  Anytime you read a story to your child this week have them predict what the story is about by looking at the pictures in the story.  We are also learning a new word this week.  It is like.  Our letter this week is Bb.

Writing:

We are working on writing our first names, our ABC’s in upper and lower case, and are focusing on writing “I like my…….”sentences.    

Science/Soc.Studies:

  

We are continuing our unit this week about family.  We will be talking about how families are alike and different, the different parts of a family, members of your family, etc.  Please remember to bring in your completed family trees this week.  We are hanging them in the kindergarten hallway.

Math:

 

In Math this week we will be working on many different skills.  These will include number recognition, teen numbers, larger and smaller numbers.  Please be sure to work with your child on any math skills that have not consistently mastered.
