Studio Tour
Purpose:
Riverton Elementary School's Multimedia Studio is designed to provide an exceptional understanding of media literacy and other facets of tech education aligned with National Educational Technology Standards to children in grades K-4.
Mission Statement:
The mission of the RES multimedia instructional program is to encourage and assist students in seeking an understanding of and gaining an appreciation for the power or a variety of electronic and print communication, information, and entertainment systems.

 

Studio Equipment: 
The studio is equipped with 24 Dell desktop computers, 6 HP laptops, 6 Apple eMac turnkey computers, an Apple iMac, an Apple MacBook laptop, an iPod Nano, an iPad, a MacroSystem Avio video editor, a MacroSystem Prestige video editor, 2 Canon digital still cameras, 6 Canon digital video cameras, a Flip Video camera, 2 Kodak Playsport cameras, 2 Nikon digital still cameras, 1 Kodak digital still camera, an interactive Promethean White Board with Activslate and 25 Activotes, sound equipment and lighting.  Commonly used software on the PCs includes Microsoft Office applications, Kid Pix, Kidspiration, Type to Learn, and Timeliner.  

Commonly used software on the Macs includes iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, iSight, Photo Booth, AppleWorks, Garageband, Microsoft Office applications and Kid Pix OSX.


 

Studio Time:

Students attend Multimedia for 25-minute class periods every fourth or fifth school day throughout the year.
