All About Mr. Field

My name is Jonathan Field and I am currently the seventh grade resource special education teacher here at Riverton Middle School. I teach instructional reading, writing and math, and I also have two hours of resource class in the morning as well as Resource Study Hall.
I was born and raised in Southern Illinois in the small town of McLeansboro, which is about thirty minutes southeast of Mt. Vernon. McLeansboro is not a very big town, (pop. 3000), and Riverton really reminds me of it. I really enjoy teaching here and I have felt really at home thanks to the staff, students, and parents that I have had the opportunity to meet and work with.
We try to have a great deal of fun in my classes, but we also work hard to master the concepts and material that are being presented in class. I have high expectations when it comes to the children in my class, and I work very hard at earning their respect. I also make it a point to show them the respect that they have earned and deserve. It is most definitely a team effort in my classes. We all work together to gain the education and life skills that are all too often taken for granted.
