Math: The skills we will be covering include: - finding differences on a number grid -reviewing money and comparing amounts - frames and arrows (number patterns) |
Notes & Reminders:
Spelling and Word Wall Words: Students will be tested on 12 words that go along with our spelling skill of the week, 3 transfer words, and 5 Word Wall Words. (A total of 20 words) Spelling Words for this week are: mix, milk, smell, last, head, friend, class, left, thick, send, thin, & stick Word Wall Words for this week are: could, favorite, have, into, & off. Since we have 2 short weeks, students will be tested on these words on Friday, August 21
Writing- we are going to work on our first 5 paragraph essay. Your child is writing about an adventure he/she would like to go on. We will learn how to write preview and review sentences that inform the reader of the points (or subtopics) we will have in our essay. |

Science/Soc.Studies The focus of Unit 1 is “Mapping Our Way.” This week students will learn: -to identify the continents and oceans -to compare a world map and a globe -the cardinal directions (N,S,E,W) and in-between directions (ex: northeast)

Third Grade Performance!
