Comprehension strategies are taught and assessed (Predicting, Summarizing, Connecting, Questioning, Inferring, and Imaging)
Guided Reading (small group instruction) takes place twice a week and is tailored to meet individual needs.
MATH
Rocket math is used to practice basic math facts
Everyday Math (6th Grade Curriculum) is taught daily. Expect daily math assignments
WRITING
Step-Up to write is used to help 6th graders learn to organize and compose essays.
Grammar skills are also taught on a daily basis.
