Classroom Management Plan

discipline system/behavior plan

by Gail Schroeder

August 12, 2010

Our classroom behavior plan is a reward based system.  Students are rewarded with Hawk Up Cards (Hawk cash) when on task and meeting expectations.  These are random rewards.

When the students collect the "cash" they can store them in an envelop kept in our classroom.  Then, usually weekly, they can choose to buy something from the "Hawk Store" with their Hawk Up Cards.  The cards are then put in with the  other eighth graders' cards for the school wide drawings.

Rewards on based on teacher discretion. I will try my best to reward all students when expectations are met.

When students violate classroom expectations their name is put on the chalk board.  After name down, and three check marks in one day they are sent to the office.  Discipline steps before the office referral are minor referral and after school detention.  This detention is served with me in our classroom, unless excused by the parent (per phone conversation).  If a student skips detention without excuse from parent, a major office referral may be issued.
