Projects, Critiques, Assignments, Quizzes & Tests:
• You will generally have approximately two weeks to work on major art and design projects.  Due dates will be posted on the front chalkboard so that you know your time frame for working on the project.  Write due dates down!  Everyone is expected to turn projects in on time!
• A critique is a form of constructive criticism.  It is not done to degrade or belittle anyone’s artwork.  It is a time to share ideas on what we can do to improve as artists.  We will have a critique after each project where each student will talk about their art.  I will lead the critiques, and then it is an open forum for discussions on the piece.  Do not be overwhelmed by this, critiques are very enjoyable and fun!  Everyone is expected to be involved in critique discussions to earn points for credit!
• Everyone will be expected to purchase and keep a sketchbook. Sketchbook assignments are your homework assignments in art class.  You will be assigned a sketchbook assignment and need to be working on it at home and on sketchbook work days.  Due dates will be posted on the front chalkboard, always check them and write them down.  Everyone is expected to turn sketchbooks in on time on the due date.  If it is turned in the day after the due date it well be -5 off of the total points.  If it is turned in any time after that, it will be -5 for every day late.
• There will be creative writing exercises that you will do in class periodically.  You will view a print from the book, a photograph, or a piece of art.  You will write about it according to the writing assignment.  It is necessary to write in all kinds of classes, even Art.
• Quizzes and tests will be given according to specific areas of art and design.

You are required to bring your supplies to class everyday!
